More Than Anything Else
By Ryan C. LA 3-4

Each and every day I wake up to my horrific alarm that stops my dreams when I am at a really good part, and I think, “I only have to get through these days until I reach my High School graduation until I am in the, Air Force.” A lot of times adults ask you, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” Each and every year I say something different. Except now my answer is, “I want to be in the Air Force.” People ask me why I want to take such a risk of dieing. I answer to adults saying that a lot of my family has taken a part in the military and I want to follow their footsteps.

Whenever I see a commercial about promoting a branch on the military I think of how I am hopefully going to be accepted. A way to become accepted is by having good grades. The reason why you need that is because to be in any branch in the military you pretty much have to be good at everything. The way I keep my dream alive is shooting for my goals and someday it wouldn’t just be a dream…it will be my job. Another way is to be athletic and that is what I am. Sports are a very important part in my life. The sports I play include, soccer, football, and baseball. If you are not athletic you are basically one step behind the others.

Whenever I see something on the news that involves an attack I pray for all of the soldiers that are risking their lives to save their country. I understand we will never live in a world filled with peace, but I guess that’s just how God wanted it to be. Maybe he just wants to add some excitement in our lives or he wanted all of the sinners on earth have something they have never wanted to happen, happen. However I don’t know. If god wanted something to happen that’s his choice not mine.

Hopefully when I grow up I will go to the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs and continue being an Air Force pilot. If I become invited and hypothetically a tersest attack happens, I know my family is behind my back praying for me and I’m behind their back praying for their lives. If that happens at least my family knows that I am risking my live to have this country have no worry of an attack.

I know if I follow my dream, my dreams will come true… all of them. If this dream does not come true I would love to fly commercial airlines or be a police officer. At least if I am that I am protecting my town, my city, and my state. As you can see protecting people is what I want to do. More than anything else
